The main focus of audiometric testing is the detection and prevention of Industrial Hearing Loss.
This is achieved through screening, education & training.
- All screening is conducted by suitably experienced and trained medical staff
- We are able to provide you with a statistical analysis of the results across various work areas/departments and/or sites
- We will compare the results of consecutive testing to ensure your staff do not suffer a loss of more than 15decibels at 3000Hz, 4000Hz and 6000Hz if required.
- All testing is carried out in accordance with OHS 2001 part 4 - compliant with AS/NZS 1269 (Occupational Noise Management).
- WorkSafe Medics calculates the percentage of hearing loss (%) using the latest software available from the National Acoustic Laboratories.
- Sound proof mobile booth to conduct screening. View booth specifications.
- An Occupational Physician reports on all results.
- We are a national company who can screen all your sites both locally and interstate
- Confidential reports will be issued to the employees that are easily understood.
- Easy to read report using spreadsheets, graphs and explanation of medical terms outlining results of all your staff
Pathological abnormalities will be indicated as separate to industrial based loss
National Noise Code of Practice
An audiometric testing program should be available to any employee likely to be regularly exposed to excessive noise even if they regularly use personal hearing protectors.
The audiometric testing scheme should include an initial reference test with periodic monitoring audiometric tests to follow. The initial reference audiogram should be taken as soon as the employee commences work, or before any expose to workplace noise occurs. Monitoring audiometry should be carried out within 12 months of initial work exposure for comparison with the results of reference audiometry. In the absence of significant threshold shift or change in the work situation, it may then be sufficient to repeat the tests at yearly intervals.
