Q Fever

In certain occupations (abattoir workers, horse racing and animal workers) employees are exposed to certain infectious diseases. The risk of infection through body fluids goes up for each employee year after year. To protect against this you need to immunize and protect your staff.

How does it work?
Firstly a skin sensitivity test is conducted because you don’t want to give immune people the injection again. This requires interpretation from a competent highly trained doctor to understand the requirements.

Once safety is qualified, we deliver on-site and nationally meaning you suffer from minimal down time whilst protecting your staff according to the law.

ABL

Do you deal with bats?

If you work with or near bats you could have (apparent or in-apparent) exposure that we need to vaccinate and protect against the Lyssa-virus. Your immune status should be established and then managed according to your results. If you are exposed to a high degree of exposure, then regular vaccination is good for your protection.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is such a health issue that a global campaign to eradicate the disease has been created, hence why new-born babies have compulsory injections.

First aid workers are most at risk of Hep B due to contact with body fluids. Worksafe Medics is well geared and equipped to provide nurse collectors and establish a schedule of testing.

Every effective vaccination program consists of 3 shots and we strongly advise a post-vaccination immune status blood test. This will confirm full immunity and once that level is reached, it is life-long with no booster required.

Hepatitis A

Similar to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A can be protected against. Sewerage workers, food handlers and waste management industries are particularly at risk.
